WHAT WE BELIEVE … ABOUT THE BIBLE

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that men were
moved by the Spirit of God to write the words of Scripture. Therefore, the Bible
contains God’s truth, and shows us how to live our lives in Christ.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Hebrews 4:12

WHAT WE BELIEVE … ABOUT GOD

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit. God has existed forever and created the universe and everything in it.
Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Hebrews 11:3; Matthew 28:19-20

WHAT WE BELIEVE … ABOUT JESUS

We believe that Jesus is fully God, and was also fully human. Born of a virgin,
He came to earth to reveal God to mankind, and to sacrifice His life on the cross
as the Savior of the world. His resurrection from the dead validated both His
identity and His promises.
John 1:1-2,14; Hebrews 1:3; Colossians 2:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

WHAT WE BELIEVE … ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is God. He influences the entire world, but He lives in
the hearts of believers. He marks us as God’s possession, empowers us to live
out godly character, and equips us to serve.
John 14:16-17; Ephesians 4:30; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:4

WHAT WE BELIEVE … ABOUT MANKIND

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have a personal
relationship with Him, but became alienated in that relationship through sinful
disobedience. As a result, we are incapable of regaining a right relationship with
God through our own effort.
Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12; Titus 3:5

WHAT WE BELIEVE … ABOUT SALVATION

We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of our sins. We cannot earn this gift, we are saved by God’s grace through faith. The New Testament demonstrates that true faith involves a response. Therefore, we believe that repentance from sin, confession of Christ as Lord and Savior, and baptism by immersion comprise that response. Those things together mark our new birth, and our adoption into God’s eternal family. We then continue to grow in our relationship with God, we yield to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, and we seek to mature and become more like Jesus.

 John 3:16; Ephesians 1:7-8, 2:8-9; Acts 2:36-42, 16:29-34, 26:20; Romans 10:9-10

WHAT WE BELIEVE … ABOUT THE CHURCH

We believe that Jesus Christ established the church as His primary method of building His Kingdom until His return. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him, serving Him, & making Him known to the world.

 Matthew 16:16-18; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42

WHAT WE BELIEVE … ABOUT THE FUTURE

Acts 1:11; Hebrews 9:27-28; Matthew 25:46
